Hall 2 Squash cruises into the Semis with a Shout!

By Hall 2 Squash Correspondent, Teddy Tsang

Just last night, Hall 2 sealed an emphatic 5-0 victory over Hall 8 in the Quarter-Finals of IHG Squash 09/10, sending them into the Semi-finals with a shout! Encouraged by the sight of Hall 2's faithful supporters, especially our efficient welfare sub-commers Yan Hui and Fion, who prepared refreshing, ice-cold 100PLUS drinks, boosted the team's confidence as high as the sky's limit.

Resting top player Zhirui, Thaddeus was given the role of demolishing Hall 8's best player. And he did just that, mercilessly, with a 9-0, 9-0 scoreline. Up next came Peiqi, who also gave her opponent no face with a 9-0, 9-0 victory! Huaming then had a more evenly-contested match, driving shot after shot, drop after drop, and even came back from 6-1 down to win the match 9-4, 9-6, much to the delight of the Hall 2 supporters, especially a certain girl from Hall 6, rumoured to be his secret girlfriend.

Peggy's victory was no easy task either. She faced someone who had the strokes of Maria Sharapova, but thankfully, not the screams. With her sublime skills, Peggy finished off her opponent in less than 15 minutes. Then came Clarence, our badminton-converted squash player, who once again did us proud with a 9-0, 9-1 win. "Aiya. Wasted! I shouldn't have conceded 1 point!" the ex-commando lamented with a cheeky grin. But whether it's 9-0 or 9-8, we all know a win is still a win. And more importantly, if you had fun, that's all that matters.

In the Semi-finals, we hope to continue having the cheers and support of Hall 2, which will help propel us to greater glory!
