Lets Gold Together! (Part 2) - The Redemption

The show-down will be on this Thursday, 24th Feb @ 7.30pm. Here's a message from the team (by Kenneth)

Painful memories from our disappointing defeat to Hall 10 Basketball team remains deeply etched in our hearts till today. The moments of regret, the moments when we apologized for each of our mistakes – those were the moments we do not want to experience again as our team set out preparing this season with a mission, with a vengeance.

Led by ZhangRui (Team Manager) and Honda (Team Captain), they inspired us with a shared VISION – This team shall demand redemption for our failure last year, and we must fight for it as a team. For the year 1s like Alwin, Zhi Hao, Bi Neng and myself, we understood the sense of urgency, and were motivated to contribute as much as we could. Seniors like Ruide, Chun Hoe, Yu Hao, Si Kuan, Hongyi, Shifeng, Terence, Wing Sing and Fang Chen displayed equally enthusiastic response, and their desire to win the championship was evident.

As quoted from Honda, “Talent counts for nothing without hard work”. The fundamental key to success is simply about hard work, determination and dedication. That was the attitude we embraced when preparing for the season. All of us dedicated our heart and soul into trainings despite our busy schedules. Everyone’s presence was essential to the team’s progress, and it was satisfying when our efforts paid off during the matches. I dare to say our victories so far were largely driven by our team effort, rather than individual talents and skills. It is the trust and camaraderie, we developed along the way, which will essentially bring us the championship, completing our validation.

The highly-anticipated moment has finally come as we face our nemesis once again, in the biggest stage of all, in the IHG Basketball finals. We are just one step away from achieving our goal. At the same time, we understand how hard this final obstacle might be, and will not let ourselves be overly zealous about the situation. It is going to be a tough battle down to the wire. The results could be decided by key plays down the stretch. In such tense moments, when fatigue is likely to affect our performance, we will need every single Hall 2 supporter to shout their hearts out to push us beyond our limits. We will fight our guts out on the court. This is the moment – it’s simply DO OR DIE.

To end off this short note, let me share with you one last quote (which Si Kuan shared on Facebook).

“The strength of the pack is the wolf, and the strength of the wolf is the pack.” – It’s a team game, and this will be how we seek redemption –

Cheers!
