On 26 December 2008, the Hall 2 bridge team marched into the Hall 8 convening hall for the IH bridge game. We have trained hard for a semester and preparations have started a year ago. We will play against Hall 4, Hall 8, and Hall 16. This was a tough assignment, as our opponents were certainly worthy ones. Half of them are school team players.
Round 1 saw us pitting our skills against Hall 4. After a grueling and stressful battle, we won narrowly by 16 against 12. It was particularly difficult as there were some really difficult boards that require precise calculation to predict who has which important cards.
Round 2 was a critical match against Hall 8. Unfortunately, this time we were not so lucky and lost by 12 against 18.
The decisive round 3 would be played against our strongest opponent, Hall 16. Although we knew that the fight will be a difficult one, and chances of a victory are slim, we still went ahead bravely and played as well as we could. Unfortunately, we lost the match 3 against 25 in the end, and with that we failed to qualify.
In the name of Hall 2, fight on.
